Pedro Gomez Guzman

Pedro Gómez is a mathematician and systems engineer from the University of los Andes, in Bogotá, Colombia. He has a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England, a Master of Science in Logic and Scientific Method from the London School of Economics, a Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies in Sociology form Paris III University, and a PhD. on Mathematics from the University of Granada. He is currently a visiting professor in the University of los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and the University of Granada (Spain). He is the director of “una empresa docente”, the mathematics education research center of the University of los Andes, Funes (a digital repository on mathematics education), and the master’s degree on mathematics teacher education of that university. He is editor of PNA (journal of mathematics education). He worked as researcher in IEA’s TEDS-M, Teacher Education and Development Study in Mathematics, in the University of Granada, Spain. He has been lecturer on mathematics teacher education at graduate and post-graduate levels in the University of Granada and the University of los Andes. He has published several books on mathematics education and research articles on high-ranked journals. His work focus on mathematics teacher education. His lines of research are on government guidelines, institutional planning, teacher education, and resources and interaction spaces for mathematics teachers.
